The city has not organized a large-scale public search, but they are recommending that Eden Prairie residents interested in helping search their own property and neighborhoods, including nearby wooded areas.

The Park Nicollet project will have 163 apartment units and retail space. Marketplace and Main has 53 high-end apartment units. Across the street, Marketplace Lofts has 48 condos. As the density increases, there will be more customers for local businesses and more improvements to the downtown.
Meanwhile, Sam Stiele, a local businessman with a real love of Hopkins, just bought the Boston Garden property and has big plans for it that should involve substantial changes to the site. And on Blake Road, the Cold Storage site has enormous potential. There is a huge amount of opportunity for a city that's just four square miles, so I don't get the hate.
Yes, there's a lot of work still to be done. But if you're not happy with the way things are, jump in and lend a hand. Sign up for one of the boards or commissions. Volunteer. Join the Historical Society. Share your thoughts at a public hearing. Get involved with your neighborhood association. Volunteer with one of the local festivals. It's ridiculously easy to participate in Hopkins — and the community would love to have you join in.

On the article WATCH: Ellison Condemns Obama’s Chained CPI Plan

ReplyIt's worth noting that chained CPI isn't only for Social Security benefits. The Atlantic Wire has a great article called "Chained CPI and You: A Primer": http://www.theatlanticwire.com/politics/2013/04/what-is-chained-cpi/64083/
Here's the key part regarding it's other uses: "[Social Security is] not only thing the government uses CPI for. It's used to adjust income thresholds for government assistance programs, phase-out levels for certain tax credits, the standard deduction you can take on your tax return each year, even the size of the tax brackets themselves. If the amount of money needed to move you into the next highest tax bracket doesn't rise as fast as your income does, you could get bumped into the higher rate faster than you would have under the old CPI. Studies have shown the cost of the switch will be borne almost exclusively by seniors and those making under $100,000 a year. (i.e., the people who can least afford it.)"

On the article MAP: Is Affordable Housing Distributed Fairly Across the Twin Cities?

James Warden
8:18 am on Tuesday, April 9, 2013
The map only measures subsidized properties. See this paragraph:
"The map above shows the number of publicly funded affordable housing units in each census tract, according to data Minneapolis-based HousingLink released Dec. 31 2011. The more affordable housing units in a tract, the darker the shade of red on the map."
Furthermore, it doesn't count Section 8 vouchers.

Having not heard of Backpage (proper noun), I thought last night's discussion was referring to the back portion of certain publications where there are frequently ads for escorts and other services.
