Osaka Opens for Steak and Sushi

The Japanese steak house is just across 85th Avenue from Fridley.

It's the first day of business at the new Osaka Japanese Steak House at 77 85th Avenue, and the first customer's dollar bill is destined for a frame on the wall. Melissa Berggren, marketing manager at Allina's Unity Hospital in Fridley, said she was Osaka's first customer. Her sushi—which was "fabulous," she said—cost her only that dollar bill.  The interior, with two dining rooms, a bar and a sushi bar, is both colorful and calming. Hours are 11 a.m.–2:30 p.m. and 4:30–10 p.m., Monday–Thursday; noon–11 p.m., Saturday; and noon–10 p.m., Sunday.
