Man Charged with Groping Girl at Fridley Walmart Pleads Guilty

Cameras caught Columbia Heights defendant touching 11-year-old as she stood inches from her mother, police said. Sentencing is March 27, 2013.

A man charged with groping an 11-year-old girl as she stood eight inches from her mother at the Fridley Walmart entered a guilty plea Tuesday in Anoka County District Court. The plea comes nearly 13 months after the alleged sexual assault. Surveillance video captured images of the man on Dec. 26, 2011—entering the store, looking at girls, then grabbing the victim's buttocks before quickly exiting the store, according to the criminal complaint against Nathan William Charles Jones, 30, of Columbia Heights. Authorities credited tips from the public for Jones' Dec. 30, 2011 arrest after police released still images from the store's video cameras through the news media. Ahmed Sule Gets 28 Years for Fridley Sex Assault on Elderly Man

Victim's daughter recounts suffering; Sule says he's innocent.

Anoka County District Court Judge Tammi A. Frederickson sentenced Ahmed Sule to 28 years and 10 months in prison for a 2010 sexual attack on an elderly man in his home that shocked the #Fridley community. Sule maintained his innocence in a statement to the court just before Frederickson read his sentence. "I'm going to prison for something somebody else did," Sule said through an interpreter. In September, a jury found Sule guilty of four counts of criminal sexual conduct and one count of burglary for a Sept. 19, 2010, residential forced-entry and sexual assault on a blind, 84-year-old man in the 6800 block of Seventh Street NE.
