Final Voter-Turnout Tallies: Fridley 79%, MN 76%
Statewide figure relies on estimate of total eligible voters. Anoka County calculates turnout by comparing existing voter rolls and new registrants with ballots cast.
Voters in Fridley turned out for the Nov. 6, 2012, election at a slightly higher rate than did voters statewide in Minnesota, according to the Anoka County Elections Office and the Minnesota Secretary of State. Turnout in Fridley was 78.60 percent by the county's method of computation. In Minnesota, the Secretary of State's different way of counting turnout put the statewide turnout figure at 76.11 percent. That's the highest voter-turnout rate of any state in the country. The Secretary of State uses an expert's estimate of the total number of eligible voters in Minnesota: 3,876,752.
