Rain, Freezing Rain and Snow: Could Be an Interesting Friday in Fridley

Anoka County is part of a swath of the state under a Winter Weather Advisory.

Watch out for wet and possibly icy roads around Fridley on Friday, with rain, freezing rain and snow coming in a couple waves, according to a National Weather Service Winter Weather Advisory. Report: Ramp Closed from Northbound Hwy. 65 to Westbound I-694

Icy conditions and a stuck semi are the reasons, WCCO-AM reported.

WCCO-AM reported at 8 a.m. that the highway ramp from northbound Hwy. 65 to westbound I-694 in Fridley is closed due to icy conditions. Check Fridley Patch's commute feature for traffic conditions.

How Are the Roads? Crowded and Icy, or Nice and Easy?

Conditions for driving and walking were tough in many places around Fridley after more than a foot of snow in chilly temps. Share your experiences, opinions or photos.

It hasn't exactly been smooth sailing on roads and streets in and around Fridley since Sunday's storm dumped more than a foot of snow on the Twin Cities. Or considering the icy spots, maybe it's been too smooth sailing. Monday commutes, in the morning and in the evening were an adventure. Traffic reports from Tuesday morning's rush hour suggest there are still bumps in the road, so to speak. Agreed. It took me 20 minutes to go from Osborne to 73rd on University this morning. The roads are awful. MNDOT needs to be ashamed of themselves.   more ›

MnDOT: Snowstorm Making Twin Cities Roads 'Difficult'

Road conditions have been downgraded over the course of Sunday morning.

MnDOT has reported periodic crashes and stalls on Fridley-area highways since the storm started Saturday night. And it wasn't only the snow: at one point the agency tweeted back-to-back alerts for debris and animals on I-694 (see photo thumbnail).
