Football Friday: Spring Lake Park vs. Totino-Grace

The Panthers try to stay unbeaten as they go up against the always-tough Eagles.

Spring Lake Park (2-0 North Suburban Conference) vs. Totino-Grace (1-1 North Suburban Conference)   PLAYMAKERS Spring Lake Park: Bobby Brown. This senior wide receiver is averaging 18 yards per catch and would like nothing more than to beat the Eagles on their home turf. Totino-Grace: Bob McDaniel. In his last game against Benilde-St. Margaret’s, McDaniel threw for two touchdowns. Look for him to air it out some more this Friday night against the Panthers  secondary. PANTHERS WIN IF ... They can force the Eagles to commit turnovers. In their only loss of the season (to Minnetonka), the Eagles were dropping the ball all over the field.  EAGLES WIN IF... They can slow down the two-headed monster running attack of Brandon Jones and Jordan …

Football Preview: Spring Lake Park vs. Chisago Lakes

Everything you need to know about the Panthers' Friday football game.

Chisago Lakes Area (0-1 North Suburban Conference) vs. Spring Lake Park (1-0 North Suburban Conference) PLAYMAKERS Spring Lake Park: Brandon Jones. The Panthers QB ran for 121 yards, and threw for 58 yards in their win against Irondale last week. PANTHERS WIN IF... They can get things rolling right off the bat. Chisago Lakes is an extremely tough team to beat and the Panthers will need to step on the gas early if they want this game to be close. WILDCATS WIN IF... They can quiet the opposing crowd early. Irondale (0-1 North Suburban Conference) vs. Columbia Heights (0-1 North Suburban Conference) PLAYMAKER Irondale: Jesse Schloesser. In his previous game against Spring Lake Park, Schloesser racked up 63 yards rushing.  HYLANDERS WIN IF... They can limit costly turnovers. In their game against Rockford last Thursday, the Hylanders could not get out of their own way coughing up four turnovers in the 38-6 loss. KNIGHTS WIN IF... This senior linebacker is averaging 13 tackles a game and will look to stuff the Red Knights running game. Benilde-St.Margaret’s: Isaiah Gray. In his last game, Gray averaged 10.6 yard per attempt.
