Nesquik Chocolate Powder Recalled for Potential Salmonella Poisoning

Cub Foods in Fridley removed the Nestle brand items last Thursday.

Stores have taken a precautionary step and removed Nesquick powder possibly linked to salmonella poisoning cases in the United States.  Cub Foods in Fridley posted signs and removed items from the shelves as soon as soon as they got notice about the voluntary recall last Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, according to Mike Ophoven, grocery department manager. The signs will stay up as long as the recall is in effect, he said: "We can't order it from a supplier [until the recall is lifted]." He suggested Swiss Miss products as a possible subsititute. At Bob's Produce Ranch, the mix wasn't on the shelf either, but for a different reason—they don't carry it. Instead, they have Hershey's chocolate syrup.
