Public Hearing on Cremations at Miller Funeral Home at Fridley City Council
The hearing is at the council's regular Monday evening meeting. A zoning change would allow cremations in an existing accessory building at the funeral home.
Miller Funeral Home has asked the Fridley City Council to add a crematory as an accessory use in C-3 General Shopping zoning districts. The council will hold a public hearing on the proposed text amendement to city's zoning code at its regular meeting on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012. According to a staff report (see second PDF thumbnail): The petitioner, Shannon Asmus, on behalf of the Miller Funeral Home, is seeking a text amendment to add language to the C‐ 3, General Shopping zoning district; that would allow a crematory as an accessory to the mortuary use at the subject property, which is located at 6210 Hwy 65.
