Who Do You Honor This Memorial Day?

Add your memory or photo to this post.

You can post a reflection or photo of a veteran you remember and honor on this post. To leave a reflection, please add a comment below. To share a photo, click on “Add your photos and videos” to the right. How are you marking this day? Two nearby events include a parade from New Brighton City Hall (leaves 9:30 a.m.) to the St. John the Baptist Cemetery (ceremony at 10 a.m.); and a Memorial Day service at the Columbia Heights City …

Thanks to everyone that showed up to the Columbia Heights Memorial Day Service. It ended up moving to the VFW because of the threat of rain. Thanks to the VFW for hosting and for the luncheon after the ceremony.   more ›

The program are designed to serve areas of the city that suffered storm damage, so pickups are restricted to those areas and residents dropping off wood debris should bring ID.  On Friday afternoon, a steady stream of resident, contractor and city vehicles arrived at the Columbia Arena lot …

Memorial Day Weekend is almost here, the official launch of summer and weeks when the Land of 10,000 Lakes becomes the highway of 10,000 road trips. Night Driving "We learned pretty early on from our car trips to Omaha with Vi that our best bet for easy traveling was to take off shortly before she was ready to go to bed, and …
