Lennay Kekua Scandal Hasn't Meant Trouble for MTV's Lenay Dunn

Their unusual first names are similar, but no one seems to have mistaken the made-up girlfriend of Notre Dame football star Manti Te'o with the TV personality from Fridley.

Lennay Kekua is the name of the Notre Dame football star Manti Te'o's girlfriend first thought dead then revealed to be a hoax who never existed. Lenay Dunn, the MTV star who grew up in Fridley, has a similar name to the made-up girlfriend, but doesn't seem to have been caught in the media storm around Lennay Kekua. Fridley Patch asked Dunn on Twitter if anyone had confused her with the invented girlfriend:  @FridleyPatch: Is anyone getting you confused with Manti Te'o's fictional girlfriend Lennay Kekua? @LenayDunn: ha I have no idea who that is! #gotigers According to pokemyname.com, Lenay is indeed a rare name, shared by only 1.42 per million Americans.
