FOUND: Tikka the Lost Chocolate Lab Is Home Again

Owner's Patch announcement prompted neighbor's tweet and a call to Fridley police, who had taken the dog to Brighton Veterinary Hospital.

Tikka is home. The much-loved pet went missing near Moore Lake Tuesday. Patch user Donna O., whose son recently became Tikka's owner, posted a Lost Dog announcement at Fridley Patch at 6:15 p.m:  My son's chocolate lab escaped her fence near Moore Lake beach. Tikka (pronounced Tee-ka) is about 50 pounds, a year old, blue collar, no tag (he just got her). If you see her, catch her or hear word of her, please call 612-708-0226. THANK YOU! Lost Fridley Pug Found, Safe and Sound, in St. Anthony

He got to a vet via animal control in St. Anthony, at least three miles from home.

Bertie the pug pup who went missing from his Fridley home Monday is back where he belongs. "He is home! Safe and sound!" wrote Molly Kelly in a comment on the announcement she posted at Fridley Patch. Bertie appears to have traveled three miles or more from his home in the area of Hillcrest Drive area, just east of Moore Lake in Fridley. "St. Anthony Animal control found him and took him to a vet who had seen one of my posts (not sure which) and called my sister last night," Kelly said in a message to Fridley Patch Tuesday.

I do not think, your dog traveled that far by himself.. someone took him in a car.. he would have been spotted traveling that far and possible hit by a car. There are a lot of mean people out there and maybe someone did it to be mean to you.. three miles is a long way for a shorted legged pug to travel.. Think about it. Shirley   more ›
