Lane closures in Fridley and Columbia Heights won't be during rush hours, MnDOT said.
"Minor delays" are in store for drivers in both directions on Central Avenue NE/Highway 65 between 40th Avenue NE and I-694. Even pedestrians will be affected as work that begins Monday temporarily closes sections of the road, the shoulder of the road and sidewalks. That's according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, which says the project—"installing new fiber optic cable, cameras, and traffic signal controller cabinets along the corridor for improved signal timing and overall traffic management"—begins Monday and will last through early December. The agency recommends that drivers seeking real-time travel information visit the website 511mn.org or dial 5-1-1.
