(UPDATED) AUDIO LINK: High-Speed Police Chase through Fridley Early Thursday

Going as fast as 100 mph, suspects made it from Elk River to northeast Minneapolis in less than half an hour before police stopped them, according to reports at Police Clips.

Updated below. A high-speed police pursuit tore through Fridley shortly before 2 a.m. Thursday, according to law-enforcement radio scanner reports monitored at the Police Clips Facebook page. The chase started in Elk River, according to Police Clips, and ended in St. Anthony or northeast Minneapolis at about 1:55 a.m. Thursday. If you were awakened by a helicopter in the middle of the night, this might have been the reason. Saturday event at VFW to remember, raise funds for Fridley family killed in crash

'An Evening with Andre' will honor a Fridley woman and her two sons, who died in a December crash with a driver fleeing the State Patrol.

Six weeks after a crash that took the lives of three Fridley residents, friends and others in the community will gather Saturday evening to remember and raise funds for the family. "An Evening for Andre," 4–10 p.m. on Jan. 22 at Fridley's VFW Post 363, is "a celebration of life," according to organizer Doug Westholter. Andre Mack, 12, died on Dec. 5 along with his mother, Amanda Thomas, and his infant brother, Akeron Thomas, when a driver fleeing the State Patrol crashed into their car in north Minneapolis.
