LIVESTREAM: David Anderson DJs New Year's Eve

The Fridley resident with ALS is using equipment that lets him program music by moving his eyes.

Watch a livestream from Minneapolis as Fridley resident David Anderson DJs a New Year Eve party, using amazing equipment built by friends and funded by a Kickstarter campaign. Anderson, who has ALS, controls the tunes with movements of his eyes. He is set to DJ from 9:30–10:30 p.m. Monday. Fridley Man with ALS 'More Ready Than Any Gig Prior' for DJ-ing NYE Party

New video shows prep for party where David Anderson will control the tunes by moving, blinking his eyes.

A new video shows preparations for the New Year's Eve party at which Frldley resident David Anderson, who has ALS, will take on DJ duties for one hour—using only his eyes.  Anderson's one-hour DJ shift starts at 9:30 p.m. Central, according to the "1 Blink = Yes" website, which will carry a livestream of the event.  Watch the livestream here (9:30–10:30 p.m. Monday). In the new video, reporter Joanna Solotaroff asks Anderson if he's ready for his DJ stint. "More ready than any gig prior," he answers by way of a computer screen where he can type by moving and blinking his eyes.

New Year's Eve is the culmination of an effort by friends of a Fridley man to help him DJ a party, using only his eyes.  David Anderson has ALS, also called Lou Gehrig's disease. It has stripped him of most muscle control, but he can still move his eyes and blink.
