Police Seek Tips on Hit-and-Run That Injured Coon Rapids Officer

in a crime alert Monday, the Coon Rapids Police Department announced a $500 reward in connection with a hit-and-run incident Saturday that left a Coon Rapids Police community service officer with minor injuries. According to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office press release: On January 12, 2013 at approximately 1950 hrs, a Coon Rapids Police Community Service Officer (Uniformed, non sworn) was assisting a motorist on Eastbound Highway 10, west of Hanson Blvd when she was struck from behind by the passenger side mirror of a passing vehicle.  The CSO was knocked into her vehicle and then to the ground.  The CSO was transported to the hospital and she suffered only minor injuries to her ribs, shoulder and face.  She was released from the …

SEE: Crime Alert Tells of Forced Residential Burglary in Fridley

The Fridley Police Department is asking for leads in the case and offering safety tips.

Someone forced their way through the front door of a house in the 1300 block of 69th Avenue NE Thursday afternoon and made off with jewelry, according to a crime alert from the Fridley Police Department Friday (see PDF). The suspect or suspect appears to have tried to break into another house on the same block but nothing was missing there, police said. If you have information about these incidents, call 9-1-1 and ask to speak to a Fridley officer. The crime alert also includes safety tips, including keeping doors and windows locked.

SEE: 1st Degree Burglary on St. Imier Dr., Says Fridley Police Crime Alert

Vehicle, laptop missing after someone broke in at night while residents slept, according to the Crime Alert.

Someone broke into a home in Fridley's South Innsbruck neighborhood overnight late Tuesday or early Wednesday, according to a Crime Alert from the Fridley Police Department. The break-in in the 5100 block of St. Imier Drive NE occurred between 11 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, and 8 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, police said, while residents were asleep.  Stolen items included a vehicle and an Apple brand laptop computer. CRIME ALERTS: Burglaries in Fridley's Oak Grove Neighborhood

The Oak Grove neighborhood has seen two burglaries in the past week.

The Fridley Police Department issued two crime alerts about burglaries in the Oak Grove Neighborhood. Around noon on Aug. 22, a home on the 6500 block of McKinley St was burglarized. The resident was awakened by the sound of someone moving around in the home. The resident confronted the suspect, who then fled out of the home and ran northbound on McKinley St. NE. Around 8 p.m. on Aug. 25, a home on the 1600 block of 66 1/2 Way was burglarized. The suspect was inside the home and exited through the front door while the homeowner was in the driveway talking with police dispatchers. [...] Several items were taken from the home, some of the items included costume jewelry, leather wallet and class ring.
