Allegation at Mariucci Arena is 8th count against Robert Dennis Minor. Anoka Co. prosecutors earlier charged him with crimes at Andover YMCA but not yet at Coon Rapids YMCA just north of Fridley, where police said he also took images of boys.
Investigators allege that Robert Dennis Minor, 53, of Coon Rapids used a wristwatch camera to take digital pictures of nude and partly nude boys at three local locker rooms or bathrooms, including the YMCA in Andover. On Friday prosecutors in Hennepin County charged Minor for alleged crimes at a second location: Mariucci Arena at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. A criminal complaint filed earlier last week in Anoka County brought seven counts related to child porn and stalking against Minor. A third location for his alleged activities mentioned by police but not yet by prosecutors is the Emma B. Howe YMCA just north of Fridley at 8950 Springbrook Dr. in Coon Rapids. A 53-year-old Coon Rapids man is in the Anoka County jail on suspicion of using a wristwatch camera to take videos and photos of boys undressing at the Emma B. Howe YMCA, 8950 Springbrook Dr., Coon Rapids, just north of Fridley. Here is the statement from the Anoka County Sheriff's Office: A 53 year old Coon Rapids male was arrested pursuant to an investigation that began on February 24, 2013 at the Andover YMCA. On February 24th, a 12 year old boy reported to his parents that while he was changing clothes at the Andover YMCA, he observed an adult male to hold a watch over a partition into the area where the boy was getting dressed. A Fridley man now faces a charge first-degree aggravated robbery in what police say was a strong-arm jewelry store heist on Dec. 30 at Kay Jewelers in Coon Rapids. At the store, a salesperson showed him a 1.56-carat diamond ring worth $15,599, Matthew Thomas Kennedy "suddenly grabbed the ring, yanked it off of her finger, and ran out the door," according to a criminal complaint filed Thursday. Anoka County Sheriff's Office calls publicity from store-video images 'decisive factor.'
The Anoka County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of a suspect in the Dec. 30, 2012 robbery at Key Jewelry in Coon Rapids. The suspect, a 23-year-old man whose last known address was in Fridley, has not yet been charged. Fridley Patch does not generally report suspects' names until prosecutors file a criminal complaint. The suspect snatched a $15,000 diamond ring, according to police. Authorities publicized still images and video clips from surveillance video cameras, both at Kay Jewelry and at another Anoka County jewelry store that the same suspect visited. The young man who robbed a $15,000 diamond ring Dec. 30, 2012, from a Coon Rapids jewelry store showed his face at another Anoka County jewelers', according to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office, and they want you to see the pictures. Nine new photos show what the sheriff's office says may be the same suspect a day earlier at a different store in Anoka. Earlier, the sheriff's office released first still photos and then a video clip that a surveillance camera caught during the alleged robbery. Coon Rapids boy, 9, is in critical condition.
The incident took place about three to four miles north of Fridley, according to KSTP. Here is a statement from the Anoka County Sheriff's Office page on Facebook: *INFO REQUESTED ON HIT & RUN* On 6-13 at 7PM a 9 year old boy was struck at 111th and Kumquat St in Coon Rapids. The driver did not stop. The vehicle was a black Chevy pickup extended cab 2 door with "Z" and a number written on it. It will have drivers side damage and a dangling mirror.
