Thursday incident sent both women to hospital with 'survivable' injuries, police said.

A Buick car traveling through the intersection struck the van broadside, causing it to roll over. Both drivers were women in the 80s and were transported by ambulance to the hospital with "survivable" injuries. Their cities of residence were Blaine and Coon Rapids. Church Youth Worker Acquitted of Sex Assaults on Girl from Fridley

Trial was in Washington County due to conflict of interest concerns.

A jury has acquitted a man of six counts of criminal sexual conducts for alleged sexual assaulting a teenaged girl from Fridley in 2010, according to a statement from the Washington County Attorney's Office. Last year prosecutors alleged Damian Blake Burkhalter of Blaine of assaulting the then-14-year-old girl at the Glen Cary Lutheran Church in Ham Lake where he served as youth director, on church trips, at his home and in a car. The girl later moved from Fridley, according to ABC Newspapers, which also said that the Anoka County Attorney's Office asked Washington County prosecutors to take the case because of "a real or perceived conflict of interest." Timothy LaMere supplied the synthetic drug 2C-E at a 2011 Blaine party that led to Trevor Robinson dying at Unity.

The man who brought the synthetic drug 2C-E to a Blaine house party last year, leading to a mass-overdose and one death at Fridley's Unity Hospital, pleaded guilty Thursday to third-degree murder. Timothy LaMere, 22, faces a nine-year, nine-month sentence as part of the plea agreement—the maximum under state law. LaMere told an Anoka County District judge he didn't realize the drugs were illegal, the Star Tribune reported. Robinson had turned 19 years old four days before the March 17, 2011 party. He died at Unity Hospital at 2 p.m. the next day, about 14 hours after Blaine police responded to a 911 call from a house party in the 9500 block of Monroe Street NE. Santorum to MN: 'You're Going to Shake Up America Tonight'

The Republican rallied supporters four miles from Fridley—and hours before a big caucus win.

Rick Santorum drew a modest crowd to Blaine, MN, Tuesday afternoon, hours before posting a huge win at caucuses across Minnesota. The rally offered a glimpse into a candidate and campaign about to score a hat trick of striking (if nonbinding) caucus- and primary-season victories, from Minnesota to Colorado and Missouri. The number of supporters gathered in the hall at the National Sports Center about four miles north of Fridley may have underwhelmed some, but by the end of his speech Santorum had the 200 or so who came enthused. 'Don't Settle' "We were ahead by 1 percentage point" over frontrunner Mitt Romney in the latest poll, the candidate reminded those in the room, to loud applause. "Minnesota, you don't need to settle for second best…
