Prosecutors: Wristwatch Videos of Nude Boys at YMCA Also Show Defendant in Mirrors

Seven counts filed Tuesday against a Coon Rapids man do not include allegations at the Coon Rapids YMCA just north of Fridley that an earlier sheriff's statement mentioned. But further charges are possible, said an Anoka County Attorney spokesperson.

  A Coon Rapids man who police arrested March 2, 2013, on suspicion of using a wristwatch camera to take digital images of boys undressing at YMCAs in Coon Rapids and Andover now faces seven counts relating to child pornography and stalking. Anoka County prosecutors filed a criminal complaint against Robert Dennis Minor, 53, on Tuesday. The complaint alleges that Minor's videos caught not only the images of nude and partially nude boys but also his own image, reflected in locker room mirrors. Andover and Coon Rapids YMCAs? Prosecutor: Walmart Video 'Key' to Accused Groper's Guilty Plea

Images from Walmart store video that Fridley police said showed a Columbia Heights man tracking girls then groping one as she stood next to her mother were "key to getting him to plead guilty," according to an Anoka County prosecutor. Last week Nathan William Charles Jones' case was scheduled to go to jury trial. Instead, he entered a plea of guilty to the crime with which he was charged: second-degree criminal sexual conduct, a felony. "A jury would have looked at it and thought it was strange," said Assistant Anoka County Attorney Amy Reed-Hall in an interview two days after the hearing. Sentencing is set for March 27, 2013. Charge: Fridley Man 'Yanked' $15K Diamond Ring Off Jewelry Salesperson's Finger

A Fridley man now faces a charge first-degree aggravated robbery in what police say was a strong-arm jewelry store heist on Dec. 30 at Kay Jewelers in Coon Rapids. At the store, a salesperson showed him a 1.56-carat diamond ring worth $15,599, Matthew Thomas Kennedy "suddenly grabbed the ring, yanked it off of her finger, and ran out the door," according to a criminal complaint filed Thursday. See the charges of attempted murder of an unborn child and domestic abuse against Kenneth L. Turner.

Anoka County prosecutors say a Fridley home was the scene of "shocking" crimes last week—a man beating his pregnant ex-girlfriend and trying to kill the fetus she was carrying. Kenneth Lakewood Turner faces two counts: Attempted murder in the first degree of an unborn child, and domestic assault. He remains in jail with bail set at $500,000 bail.
