UPDATED: Fridley FD Responds to Apartment Fire

Twin Cities Fire Wire was on the scene in the 1600 block of 73rd Ave. NE Thursday afternoon.

Update (8 a.m. Friday): Twin Cities Fire Wire has a post with 12 photos and an article about the apartment fire on 73rd Avenue NE in Fridley on Thursday:  Fridley Captain 11 arrived reporting smoke showing from the top floor of a multi-story apartment building. Fridley firefighters entered the structure with extinguishers to contain the fire as an Apartment attack line was stretched to the fire floor. Crews were able to quickly knock the fire down and found the fire had made its way into the ductwork extending into the attack space. PHOTOS: Snowplow vs. Car Crash in Fridley

Incident occurred at 73rd and University avenues NE shortly after 10 a.m. Monday.

Updated below. A snowplow and passenger vehicle collided at University and 73rd avenues NE in Fridley Monday shortly after 10 a.m. An ambulance was sent to the scene on a routine basis, Fridley Police Lt. Mike Monsrud said, indicating that injuries, if any, were very minor. He said he didn't know who, if anyone, was injured. The Minnesota State Patrol was headed to the crash site to write up the incident, Monsrud said, as is routine for crashes involving plows on state highways. Monsrud said that Monday morning was proving to be busier for the Fridley Police Department than usual for a day with snowy road conditions, with cars sliding off the road and other incidents. …

Hit-and-walk? 2 Drivers Walk Away from Crash—But One Walked Home

Car knocked over truck on Highway 65 and 73rd Avenue in Fridley, police said.

Update (4:15 p.m. Monday): Both drivers involved in a crash on Highway 65 Monday walked away from the scene of what Fridley police called a "pretty serious accident." The problem, according to authorities: One of the drivers walked home. Fridley police arrested the male driver of a car that they say drove east out of the Fridley Terrace manufactured-home park about 11:30 a.m. Monday—right into the path of a truck heading south on 65.  The collision sent the larger vehicle tumbling on the highway. Early reports that the truck was on fire may have been accurate, said Fridley Police Capt. Brian Weierke—but if so, it quickly burned itself out. (The truck was not on fire when police arrived.)
