History Center Event Marks Today's Tornado Anniversary

Author will offer video presentation before discussion.

The Fridley History Center will mark the 46th anniversary of the tornadoes that struck Fridley on May 6, 1965, with an event at 7 p.m. at the Center today.

Allen Taylor, author of The Night the Sirens Blew will begin the evening by presenting a video. Then everyone present will have a chance to share their own stories.

The tornadoes of May 6, 1965, which ravaged Fridley and killed 13 people, remain the worst in Twin Cities history.

Tonight's event is free and open to the public, with refreshments served afterwards.
