It’s Thursday, and we’re still swimming in snow. Chances are you’re through being entertained by winter festivities so Fridley Patch has found a few non-winter specific options for the weekend.
Where/When: on Thursday, Feb.24 from 7–9 p.m.
Why Go: Help the Fridley Women of Today make sandwiches for the homeless.
Price: Your labor donation and perhaps a smile but it’s not required.
Where/When: Schwan Center (1700 105th Ave NE, Blaine) on Saturday, Feb. 26, 9 a.m.–2 p.m.
Why Go: Gain invaluable information and ideas for your upcoming home improvement projects.
Price: Free to all Fridley, Blaine and Mounds View residents.
Where/When: Krause Hartig VFW (8100 Pleasant View Dr NE, Spring Lake Park) on Saturday, Feb. 26, 12–6 p.m.
Why Go: Enjoy an afternoon chocked full of music and help support the wounded soldiers at the Minneapolis Fisher House. Plus, you wouldn’t want to miss the Eelpout Stringers performance at 2 p.m.
Price: Free admission
Where/When: Rum River Library on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 2 p.m.
Why Go: The jazzy tunes of historical New Orleans will put you right into the epicenter of the Mardi Gras celebration...just close your eyes.
Price: Three bead necklaces. (That’s a lie: it is entirely free.)
Where/When: on Monday, Feb. 28 at 7:30 p.m.
Why Go: Take a Monday evening break to calm yourself with delightful music and to ensure that by mid-winter they mean end of the winter.
