Fridley resident Natividad Seefeld organized the one-mile walk to raise funds to fight chiari malformation, a serious neurological disease. You can still join the walk before the 8:30 a.m. start at Commons Park.

Get over to Commons Park early Saturday morning and join the Conquer Chiari Walk across America—a one-mile walk to raise funds and awareness for the fight against chiari malformation, a serious neurological disease affecting 300,000 people in the United States.

The event was organized by Fridley resident Natividad Seefeld, who said that as of Wednesday morning that 90 people and 15 teams are signed up. You can still participate by signing up before the event or at the event. The walk starts at 8:30 a.m. at Commons Park in Fridley and participation is free.

"This is very exciting for our first time," Seefeld said in an email Wednesday. "I can’t believe it."
