VIDEO: Empty Bowls Fundraiser Highlights Fridley Area Hunger
At Spring Lake Park High, a simple meal, hand-thrown ceramic bowls and helping the hungry.
Proceeds from the fundraising event went to support the food shelf efforts of Southern Anoka Community Assistance (SACA).
People who attended the event at donated to SACA and in return got a meal of soup, salad and bread—and an empty bowl to help them remember those in the community who struggle to pay for food.
It was the first of two fundraising events set for March.
