PHOTOS: Double Rainbow Ushers in Fridley 49er Days Festival

A rare full arc capped off a rainy Wednesday. Thursday's skies looks sunny.

A good omen for Fridley 49er Days 2012? Shortly before sunset Wednesday, a full rainbow—or depending on when and where you were, a full double-rainbow—leaped high in the southern sky.

In response to Fridley Patch's appeal for rainbow photos on Twitter, Torri Johnson shared her picture of the rainbow as it looked over New Brighton. (Did the rainbow end at the last SUV in the row? No, Johnson, said: The reward was a win for the New Brighton Blaze soccer team.)

The full arc was hard to capture in a single camera image. Callie Bush posted left-hand and right-hand views on Twitter (see them joined, sort of, in a composite image here), that included part of the second rainbow.

If there had been a third rainbow, David Kelliher noted on Twitter, it would have ended at the Powerball billboard seen in this photo from Johnson Street NE.
