Grandma's Marathon 2012 Race Results for Fridley Runners

Fridley residents laced up their running shoes this weekend in Duluth.

Thousands took to the rolling terrain of Duluth and the North Shore on Saturday for the 36th annual Grandma's Marathon and the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon.

From Fridley, 16 runners completed the marathon. In the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon, 12 runners from Fridley finished.

Berhanu Girma, 25 of Cambridge, won the marathon; Everlyne Lagat, 31, of Albuquerque, led the women. In the half-marathon, Jack Delehanty, 25, of Minneapolis placed first overall, and Kelly Brinkman of Bloomington, 31, placed first among women.

Michael Hlusak, 35, finished with a time of 3:08:41 (placing 262 of of 5,785 overall)

Also finishing the half marathon was Jessica Rossing, a 2004 Fridley High School graduate who now lists Duluth as home, with a time of 1:30:49. (Thanks to Noel Thompson for calling attention to her finish.)
