For the first time ever, the North Suburban Conference relay meet was held outdoors on Thursday afternoon as the aquatics park at St. Louis Park's Rec Center hosted the season-opening exhibition.

"There are a few bugs to work out, like not having starting blocks, but it's great to be out here on a perfect day," swim official Bob O'Hara said.
Scores were not kept for the competition, creating a friendly atmosphere in which swimmers from many of the teams involved met and greeted one another on the warm and sunny day.
