LIVE VIDEO: Chris Kluwe Set to Debate a Chair on MN Marriage Amendment

The Minnesota Vikings punter said he has invited at least 10 prominent Republicans to take part in a debate at 5 p.m. Friday, but none has taken him up on the offer.

With or without someone to debate against, Chris Kluwe is going to be debating Minnesota's proposed constitutional marriage amendment.

Kluwe, a vocal advocate for gay marriage who has recently been speaking out against the proposed constitutional marriage amendment, said he sent invitations to 10 prominent Minnesota Republicans. He is set to take part in a debate at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at the Brave New Workshop in downtown Minneapolis. Twin Cities radio personality Tom Barnard has signed on to act as moderator for the debate.

Among those Kluwe claimed on Twitter to have invited and gotten a no: U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN), whose district borders Fridley.

On Thursday afternoon, Kluwe took to Twitter to provide an update on whether he'd found an opponent.

"As of now the empty chair is still my leading debate opponent. We'll be at The Brave New Workshop tomorrow at 5pm to discuss things," he tweeted.
