Fridley's Allen Swims to Third Place Finish

Colter Allen finished in the top three at Saturday's Class A state finals in the 100-yard butterfly.

The Fridley boys swimming and diving team finished up competition Saturday at the Class A state finals at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis.

The Tigers finished the event with 63 team points, good for 15th overall. Fergus Falls won the state title with 205 points.

Colter Allen led the way for Fridley. He took third in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 53.19 seconds, and he also finished as consolation champion in the 200 IM. He won the consolation heat with a 2:03.89 showing.

The 200 medley relay finished seventh overall, the 200 freestyle relay took 14th and Alex Ambuhl took 13th in diving.
