Fridley Advances Swimmers to State Finals

Colter Allen led the way with his performance in the 100-yard butterfly

The boys swimming and diving team will send six individuals and relay teams to Saturday’s Class A state finals, thanks to the Tigers’ efforts at the swimming preliminary round on Friday at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.

Fridley’s Colter Allen led the way for the Tigers, finishing the prelims with a third-seed in the 100-yard butterfly.

Allen also helped Fridley's 200-yard medley relay team (Allen, Alex Ambuhl, Julian Greenup and Josh Peterson) finish with the seventh seed. And as an individual he finished as the ninth seed in the 200-yard individual medley.

Fridley’s efforts on Friday came one day after Ambuhl finished the state diving prelims in 14th place.
