Facing Terminal Cancer, Fridley Man Makes a Trip to Vikings Practice

The Pioneer Press story says Chris Donley, who is facing late-stage melanoma, has just days to live.

Chris Donley, of Fridley, has late-stage metastatic melanoma with only days to live, according to a Pioneer Press story.
But last week, after receiving a last round of radiation therapy, the 57-year-old Donley was looking to his next trip: A visit for the life-long Minnesota Vikings fan to the pro football team's practice facility in Winter Park.

"Thanks to Vikings Hall of Fame guard Randall McDaniel and his wife Marianne, the Donleys spent Tuesday (Aug.  27) afternoon at Winter Park, a special guest of head coach Leslie Frazier," according to Pioneer Press sports reporter Sean Jensen. "And while he remained in his blue Toyota Corolla, Donley insisted his loved ones pose for pictures on the practice field and relish the behind-the-scenes access to their beloved team."
