In April of 2010, Cory and Eric traveled to Lima Peru to record Afro Peruvian music. Afro Peruvian music was born directly out of the slave culture of coastal Peru. Each style or form of the genre reflects a different aspect of the life of slavery. You will not want to miss this amazing opportunity to hear some of Fridley’s own as they play and discuss their journey to Lima, Peru and the music that was born from it.

Proceeds from the event will be used as a fundraiser for Fridley’s Encore program. Encore is a new program designed with the recently retired or soon—to—retire adult in mind. Through the use of surveys and discussion, we have developed a program to meets the needs of those 50+ now. There are special interest clubs, educational offerings, wellness and special events.
