Both teams continued to battle it out until the bitter end. With six-tenths of a second remaining, Totino-Grace had one more chance to tie the game: Alex Kreuser shot the ball as the buzzer rang, barly missing the three-point shot and ending the game with the final score 53-50.

Columbia Heights coach Willie Braziel said, “It’s been a long week since last Thursday's game against Henry [won by forfeit due to an on-court punch], but you have to take the good, the bad and the ugly.” Braziel said his team came out flat and it showed in this game. He congratulated Totino-Grace's coach Kevin Seim on how prepared his team was and how they were able to stop Lofton in this game. Zach Lofton is ranked the second-leading scorer in the state and averages 30 points per game.
