Totino-Grace High School Presents 'Anything Goes'

Five performances include Sunday matinee, Friday-Saturday ''Dinner and a Show.'

Beginning this evening and culminating in a Sunday matinee, the award-winning music and drama departments are .

With music and lyrics by Cole Porter, Anything Goes is based on a book by Guy Bolton and P.G. Wodehouse, as revised for its 1934 Broadway debut by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse.

Set aboard the S. S. American, the story follows the madcap antics of Billy Crocker, played by Joseph Stagg, as he stows away on the ship to woo the mysterious woman he fell in love with on a taxi ride—the lovely heiress Hope Harcourt (Megan Hahn), traveling to England with her fiancee Sir Evelyn Oakleigh (Spencer Kopp) and chaperoned by her mother (Katharine McCormick).

Add to the mix nightclub singer Reno Sweeney (Hannah Flam) and Public Enemy #13 Moonface Martin (Danny Adams), masquerading as a minister and missionary, and Anything Goes!

Songs included are I Get a Kick Out of You and Anything Goes.

Performances are set for a 7:30 p.m. curtain Wednesday through Saturday evenings, with a 2 p.m. Sunday matinee.

Friday and Saturday evening the music department will host its annual fundraiser from 4:30-7 p.m. in the school's Commons. The event will feature a pasta dinner, a craft and bake sale, and a silent auction. Music students will entertain throughout the evening.

Tickets for the musical are $10 for adults, $6 for senior citizens and non-Totino-Grace students (any age). Totino-Grace students are free with ID.

Tickets for the pasta dinner are $7 for adults and $5 for students, with proceeds from the fundraiser supporting financial-aid requests from music students, equipment purchases and other non-budgeted needs.
