Snowy Friday in Fridley: Anoka-Hennepin Schools Closed, Totino-Grace Has Late Start

Winter's last gasp is mucking up roads and some students' schedules.

The Anoka-Hennepin School District has called a snow day for Friday, according to local media lists, closing schools including Adams Elementary just north of Fridley which draws some Fridley residents.

Also closed Friday is Calvin Christian High School in Fridley.

Totino-Grace High School in Fridley will start two hours late on Friday, April 20, 2013, according to KARE11.com, as Minnesota deals with a springtime winter storm.

Commuters can expect a tough slog through the snow that has fallen along with rain, sleet and hail over the last 24 hours.

Overnight, a snowplow truck caught fire and was fully engulfed on East River Road north of Fridley, according to a scanner report.
