Photos: Fridley High School Commencement 2011

'You are pioneers,' superintendent says.

The Class of 2011 donned robes, heard music and speeches, accepted diplomas, and tossed their mortarboard caps to the gymnasium rafters Thursday night. Then they streamed out the high school doors one last time into the cool summer air to greet family and friends.

The familiar and stirring playing of "Pomp and Circumstance", the genuine respect and professionalism of the staff, the concert choir singing "For Good" by Stephen Schwartz, the exuberance of the graduates, the speech by Dan Terebayza, the reading of the names and the hats thrown in the air -- a wonderful night of celebration in a warm gymnasium and the joyful exit into a cool and breezy Fridley evening !

Nancy, those are excellent highlights. I meant to post a PDF of the program that lists a few of those things ... thanks for reminding me.
