9 Spring Lake Park Students Tapped for Chorus Fest

They'll take part in 22nd annual ACDA Men's/Women's Chorus Festival.

Choir Director Jeff Wressel has selected nine students to perform at the 22nd annual American Choral Director's Association-Minnesota Men's/Women's Chorus Festival at St. John's University, Collegeville, MN, on Oct. 29.

The students include seniors Katherine Bodor, Coulter Carey, Dominic McFadden, Kristen Parizek and Andrew Strohmayer; juniors Emily Lukens, Jonathan Magnuson and Alicia McCarron; and sophomore Rachel Lehman.

This event brings together students from 33 Minnesota high schools performing in men's and women's choirs, along with 12 choirs from nine colleges.

Throughout the day the two choirs will practice and will break for two concerts put on by the college groups.

The Festival Finale Concert will feature the women's massed choir performing A Girls Garden by Randall Thompson; O Pastorelle, Addio by Giordano (arranged by Emile H. Serposs); The Seal Lullaby by Eric Whitacr; and No Rock's A Cryin by Rollo Dilworth. The Men's massed choir will perform Haec est Dies by Jacob Gallus; Die Nacht by Schubert (arranged by Leavitt); Fergus an' Molly by Vijay Singhp; and Pirate Song by Tim Y. Jones.

The combined collegiate and high school women's and men's choir will perform Musick's Empire by Lloyd Pfautsch.

Festival Finale tickets will go on sale in the Abbey Church at about 4:05 p.m. The concert begins at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students.
