Filing Period Has Ended for School Boards

Candidates have filed for the Fridley, Anoka-Hennepin and Spring Lake Park school boards.

The filing period for seats on three school boards has now closed.

In the Fridley Public Schools the candidates will be shoe-ins as there are as many candidates as there are open seats.

Chris Riddle, 1600 Craig Way, Fridley, filed on Aug. 3; Kim Sampson, 916 Moore Lake Drive, W., Fridley, file Aug. 12; and Fred Bischke, 1490 66th Ave., N.E., Fridley filed Aug. 16.

Two candidates filed on the last day, Aug. 16 to contest 3 Scott D. Wenzel, 10779 Unity Lane, N., Brooklyn Park, who filed Aug.4 filed for the District 5 seat on the Anoka-Hennepin school board. Warren Joseph Harder, 1224 87th Ave., N., Brooklyn Park and Beverly Holmstrom, 10020 Drake St., N.W., #313, both filed on Tuesday.

The five candidates who filed for one of three open seats on the Spring Lake Park School Board have until 5 p.m. on Sept. 18 to withdraw. After the withdrawal period the school district officials will release the names and addresses of the candidates.
