Bringing Local History to Life: In Memoriam
Head over to the Rum River Library to join the Anoka County Historical Society in a presentation regarding death over the past 200 years.
A note from Anoka County Library;
Death touches everyone’s life at some point. From burial practices and mourning rituals, the way we remember those who have passed, how we show respect for the dead, and the ways we commemorate their lives will be discussed.

“It’s a grim topic that is not often discussed,” said Anoka County Commissioner and library liaison Jim Kordiak. “These programs will not only be fascinating but may perhaps build understanding when a loved one is lost.”
This historical look at commemoration of the dead is sponsored by the Anoka County Library and is presented by the Anoka County Historical Society. This program is free and open to the public and is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
