Fridley mayor Scott Lund talks to Patch about Erin Brockovich's investigation of the city's cancer rates.

Fridley Mayor Scott Lund said Monday he would be surprised if  led to new findings linking the with environmental factors.

The consumer advocate has said this spring for a community meeting. Lund said he welcomed anyone's study but was skeptical Brockovich's team would find things government experts missed.

"The only ones they're going to collect information from are those whose family, friends, relatives got cancer," he said. "Are they going to talk about all those people who came in and moved out and never got cancer?"
