VIDEO CLIP: Sewage Leaking into Mississippi from Pipe in Fridley River Bank

The Metropolitan Council Environmental Services stopped the leak at about 2 a.m. Friday.

Here is a short video clip from the (MCES) of sewage flowing from a leaking pipe down a Fridley riverbank into the Mississippi River. MCES fixed the leak at about 2 a.m. Friday—about 12 hours after a Fridley resident reported an odor of sewage. Metropolitan Council spokesperson Bonnie Kollodge said MCES staff will continue to monitor the river into the weekend; she added that current high water flows were dissapating the sewage more quickly than would have been the case with normal water levels.
