Flakes are falling but will the storm fizzle in Fridley?

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning for Fridley, Anoka County and other parts of the Twin Cities metropolitan area from 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon through 6 p.m. Wednesday:

Snow and sleet and even a little freezing rain are likely from early tonight through Wednesday afternoon. The mix will change to all snow by Wednesday morning. 

Sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph may occur in addition to the falling snow and produce low visibilities at times.

Snow, sleet and strong winds will cause problems for travelers. And the wet snow could cause a few tree branches to break leading to power outages. Snow and sleet will cause slick road conditions ...

A mix of sleet and freezing rain ... will lead to slick roads ... making travel extremely dangerous. If you do travel have a winter survival kit and a fully charged cell phone with you. If you get stranded stay with your vehicle.
