Legislative Clerk David Surdez places the names of the 2013–2014 House members on the voting board in the House Chamber. The 134 name plates have to be adjusted by hand at least every two years.

The legislative session is scheduled to begin Jan. 8, 2013.

After redistricting, and the 2012 General Election, Fridley will be represented by Connie Bernardy in the Minnesota House of Representatives and Barb Goodwin in the Senate. (The other senator who has represeneted part of Fridley, Republican Pam Wolf, lost her re-election bid in a re-shaped district that no longer included Fridley.)

Another familiar nameplate belongs to DFLer Carolyn Laine, whose district included part of Fridley before redistricting. (In the new session, she'll represent Columbia Heights.)

Missing are the names of two other DFL state representatives who represented parts of Fridley last session: Tom Tillberry and Kate Knuth. Redistricting put them in the same House district and they chose not to seek re-election.
