Maps: Fridley in Latest Redistricting Proposals

Minnesota's political boundaries will soon be redrawn based on 2010 U.S. Census.

On Friday, a special judicial redistricting panel received proposals for redrawing political boundaries within Minnesota.

Fridley would continue to be in the northeast corner of the Fifth Congressional District in both the Republican and DFL Party plans.

Both plans also divide the city into parts belonging to different state legislative districts.

A third proposal (Britton), from another group of DFLers, would put Fridley in the state's Sixth Congressional District.

The redistricting panel website has links to PDFs of all the documents submitted so far to the judiciary panel. Judges have decided Minnesota's new political boundaries for decades after the Legislature could not agree on new plans.
