Last Fridley Council Meeting for Longtime City Manager

The man who has managed Fridley city government since 1988 will sit at the Fridley City Council Chambers dais for his last regular council meeting Monday.

And once the meeting starts, "PRESENTATIONS TO DR. WILLIAM BURNS" is the second item on the agenda, after the Pledge of Allegiance (see full agenda by clicking on PDF thumbnail).

Finance Director Darin Nelson will take Burns' place as interim city manager while the council searches for a permanent replacement.

The regular city council meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the council's chambers at the Fridley Municipal Center (City Hall).

A pre-meeting is set for 7 p.m. in an adjacent conference room, with a special information meeting on two applicants regarding the vacancy on the Fridley Housing and Redevelopment Authority set for 6:30 p.m. All are open to the public.
