Kate Knuth: How Climate Change Makes for Weather Disasters Like Duluth Flooding

The DFL state representative for part of Fridley told the UpTake that climate change is now a partisan wedge issue.

“Climate change stacks the deck toward more extreme weather events, more droughts, more floods and more significant rain events, which is what we saw in Duluth,” state Rep. Kate Knuth (DFL) told The UpTake.

Knuth, who represents the southeast corner of Fridley, is retiring from the state Legislature after redistricting put her in a new district with state Rep. Tom Tillberry (DFL). She gave a farewell to the House of Representatives when the regular session ended. The Legislature is back at the state Capitol for a special session on disaster relief Friday.
