Ideas clashed at restaurant in Fridley Friday morning, as Gov. Mark Dayton parried questions from business people at a Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce legislative breakfast event.

Earlier, the sold-out audience heard differing political outlooks from state Sens. Roger Chamberlain (R-Lino Lakes) and Barb Goodwin (DFL-50), who represents Columbia Heights and much of southern and western Fridley.

That's how Dayton started his remarks, with a glance at the steady snowfall on just outside the Shorewood's windows.

He went on to speak for about 30 minutes, but that may have been the last thing Dayton said that everyone in the packed room could agree with him about.

The state budget, this session's and job creation were the major topics Dayton addressed, but he also touched on the Vikings stadium proposed for Arden Hills, road repair, transit and other issues.
