Get Household Hazardous Waste Ready for FHS Drop-off Aug. 11

Anoka County hosts collection event at Fridley High School next Saturday, 9 a.m.–1 p.m.

This is a good weekend to get paint and other household hazardous materials ready for Anoka County's collection event next Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, 9 a.m.–1 p.m., at .

Enter the school's north lot from eastbound lane of 61st Avenue NE. Bring your driver's license or other proof of that you live in Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey or Washington counties. Drop offs are free for residents but businesses, organizations and schools may NOT bring waste to the collection.

Some of the thing you CAN bring:

  • Leftover paint
  • Household cleaners
  • Fluorescent bulbs
  • Automotive fluids
  • Most products labeled Caution, Warning, Danger or Poison

Make sure any containers you bring don't tip over or leak.

  • Ammunition or explosives
  • Appliances
  • Asbestos
  • Batteries
  • Electronics
  • Garbage
  • Medications
  • Medical sharps (needles/syringes)
  • Tires
