Update (3 p.m.): Calling it new information as of this morning, Fridley Fire Chief John Berg added these items to the list of ways a state shutdown would impact Fridley:

  • All State response teams including the Chemical Assessment Teams, Bomb Squads, Technical Rescue Team and Incident Management Team will continue to operate.
  • The State Duty Officer will continue to answer calls.
  • All State Fire Marshal services will be  suspended. There may be an exception to investigations involving a fatality.
  • There will be no Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC) deployments for mutual aid to other states. This includes the National Guard.
  • The Department of Homeland Security will not be staffed unless the Governor declares a state of emergency.

That brings the grand total in Fridley to 35 items, with seven for the fire department and 19 for public safety (fire and police).

Added Berg: "This information is fluid and has changed again since last Tuesday."
