Collection of Holiday Lights at City Hall Starts Thursday

Bring unwanted holiday lights to City Hall or to nearby Ace Hardware stores for recycling.

Fridley's Municipal Center is a collection point for unwanted holiday lights again this year, Nov. 15, 2012–March 1, 2013. Barrels in the lobby at City Hall are labeled for the type of light strand you wish to recycle.

Every part of donated lights will get recycled, according to the Recycling Association of Minnesota.

"The Recycling Association of Minnesota (through a member company) uses them for training disabled adults and later recycles the wire," according to the City of Fridley website.
