The selection process has been coordinated through Slavin Management Consultants of Norcross, GA, which received and reviewed 46 applications. Robert Slavin, President of Slavin Management and David Krings, search consultant, screened and recommended a list of applicants for Council to consider as finalists in accordance with criteria established back in November 2012.

The Fridley City Council also agreed on dates for the initial interviews on Friday, April 5 and Saturday, April 6, 2013, at the Fridley Municipal Center. Once finalized by Slavin Management and staff, exact times and room location will be announced in a Special Meeting Notices posted in advance of these interviews.

Minnesota state law limits the disclosure of data related to applicants and finalists before and after certification. Additional information on the candidates may become available in a future release.

Interviews will be conducted by the City Council as a Special Meetings, which will be open to the public pursuant to the Open Meeting Law.

It is expected that each interview will last approximately one hour in length with City Councilmembers taking turns asking questions of the finalists from a prepared list of questions. No input or questions will be taken from the public during the interviews.

After the interviews are completed, the City Council will work with Slavin Management to finalize the remainder of the selection process, which may include second interviews or additional meetings to make its final selection.
